Privacy Policy
MarginSmith ("we," "our," or "us") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use marginsmith.ai (the "Marketing Site") or the MarginSmith application accessible at app.marginsmith.ai (the "Product"), how we use it, and the choices you have.
Information You Provide
When you contact us, sign up for a MarginSmith account, run a free Profit Check, or email us about an upcoming feature, we collect the information you voluntarily provide. This may include:
- Your name, email address, and password
- Business information you enter into your Business Profile (business name, phone, address, services, license number, credentials, reviews, and photos)
- Payment information you provide to our billing processor (Stripe)
- Content you enter into the Product (audit inputs, campaign briefs, landing page edits, mission responses)
Information We Collect Automatically
When you use the Marketing Site or Product, we automatically collect:
- Standard log data (IP address, browser type, referring pages, timestamps)
- Product usage data (which features you use, when, and how — for analytics and product improvement)
- Cookies and similar technologies required for authentication and session management
How We Use Your Information
We use the information you provide to:
- Deliver the Product features you request (generating your landing page, running your Smart Audit, producing ad content, publishing your live site, etc.)
- Process payments and manage your subscription
- Send you transactional communications about your account and any features you've opted into
- Improve the Product through aggregate, de-identified analytics
- Comply with legal obligations
What We Do NOT Do
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your Business Profile content, quote data, or other business data to train third-party AI models. We do not share your customer information with other MarginSmith users or with advertisers.
Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services to deliver the Product:
- Google Firebase — authentication, database, file storage, and hosting
- Google Gemini and Vertex AI — large language model inference for content generation. Your inputs to these services are not retained by Google for training per Google's enterprise API terms.
- Stripe — payment processing. We do not store your card details.
Your Rights
You may request access to, correction of, export of, or deletion of your personal information at any time by emailing privacy@marginsmith.ai. If you delete your account, we delete your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.
Published Landing Pages
When you publish a landing page through the Product's Web Engine, the page content — including business name, contact information, services, credentials, and reviews you provided — becomes publicly accessible at a URL you control. If you unpublish or your subscription lapses (see 30-day grace period below), the page is removed.
Data Retention
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you cancel your subscription, we retain your account in a "grace" state for 30 days so you can reactivate without losing your data. After 30 days of continued cancellation, we delete your account data unless retention is required by law.
Children's Privacy
MarginSmith is not directed to individuals under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email to the address associated with your account before the change takes effect.
